Here is an example of a child using the 'duck hands' strategy to blend words.
Here is an example of a child using the 'eagle eyes' strategy to find the tricky word and then reading the sentence, stopping to reread it from the beginning every time they stop to sound out a word. This second strategy helps with fluency and comprehension. "
